Founded in 2008 by the Ameson Education and Cultural Exchange Foundation, the American High School (+AP) Program (AHSP) was created to offer an internationally competitive alternative to the traditional Chinese curriculum, using an American high school curriculum with AP classes in an all-English environment. The program brings American teaching methods and educational technology into China via niche magnet school programs embedded within some of the most prestigious public high schools in China. The program is guided by two select groups within the Ameson Foundation — The Advisory Committee for Admissions and the Advisory Committee for Academics.
10 hours a day, 200 hours a month, 3 years in total: the American High School (+AP) Program combines the exacting standards of Chinese schools with advanced teaching methods from around the world to create an unparalleled educational experience. With a curriculum based on the U.S. Common Core Curriculum, the AHSP also offers a variety of AP classes taught in an English language environment. What's it like to teach with Ameson? We asked some of our best teachers stationed at high schools around the country to send us their thoughts on living and teaching in China.
Aside from its two Advisory Boards, the AHSP also has a core team of administrators that handle daily affairs and keep the American High School (+AP) Program running smoothly.
