The Ameson Education and Cultural Exchange Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to the promotion and implementation of programs which facilitate cultural exchange and educational cooperation throughout the world. Founded in New York in 1998, Ameson's headquarters is located in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. Ameson maintains offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing and Suzhou, as well as numerous operations centers worldwide. Ameson's honorary Chairman was the late Dr. Boutros Boutros Ghali, a former Secretary General of the United Nations.

Hangzhou No. 2 High School of Zhejiang Province becomes AST test center

Hangzhou No. 2 High School signed an agreement with Ameson Foundation on October 29, 2009 to join the the Ameson Chinese Elite Identification Scheme (ACEIS). Professor David Cardwell from University of Cambridge, Professor Li Rong, advisor of the Ameson Foundation and Director of the University of Cambridge China screening program, and Mr. Shen Ronghe, Director (Secretary of Party Committee) of Hangzhou No. 2 High School of Zhejiang Province, attended the signing ceremony.

ACEIS is a program to help world-leading international universities identify top Chinese high school students. It derived from an Ameson-Cambridge program founded in 2003 and it not only identifies the finest Chinese students, but also educates them on the opportunities available to study overseas. The University of Cambridge China screening program is co-organized by Cambridge Admissions Office, University of Cambridge and the Ameson Foundation. By joining this program, Hangzhou No. 2 High School has become an AST Test Centre in Hangzhou and also the 33rd AST test center in China.

Hangzhou No. 2 High School has a history of 110 years. It is the first modern high school in Hangzhou Municipality, capital of Zhejiang Province. The school aims to encourage students’ individual uniqueness, creativity, self-discipline and all-around development. And the school has gained prestigious reputation in many aspects. According to their statistics, “the college admission rate of the school's senior class has remained 100%. About 80% of the graduates enroll in key universities in the nation for higher education.”

Mr. Shen Ronghe comments at the signing ceremony that by becoming an AST test center, Hangzhou No. 2 High School has taken a great step in cooperating with high-end international programs. The collaboration serves as a platform for cultivating more future leaders with international vision and abilities. It provides more opportunities for students aiming to be admitted to many of the world’s leading universities. Professor David Cardwell also expressed his wishes for more elite Chinese students to join University of Cambridge and realize their dreams.
