Ameson Foundation signed a deal with Taizhou High School for its “2+1” program. A signing ceremony was held in the Nanjing office of Ameson Foundation, on September 9th, 2007.
Taizhou High School has a history of more than 100 years and it also ranks top 100 among Chinese high schools.

The collaboration of Ameson and Taizhou High School is believed to help to further develop the school. Talents from the Taizhou High School would hence become more competitive and become elite with broader global horizon.

Nearly 100 senior one students will take part in the program. The Ameson Foundation will provide teaching curriculum, teaching materials, evaluation support as well as teachers for this program.

Ms Angela Milln, director of student recruitment, the University of Bristol, and Mr. Alberto Monti, professor of Law at Bocconi University visited Ameson Foundatation’s Nanjing office. They held a public talk with prospective students and their parents.

Many of the students are reading the Italian language course or planning to pursue undergraduate study abroad. Hence the two officials introduced their universities and also entry requirements.

Ameson welcomed Dr David Stevens, the Head of the UCL International Office, for the 11th session of “dialogue with top universities world-wide”, a public talk series that Ameson organized with Yangtze Evening News.

In this event, Mr. Stevens introduced admission procedures of UCL. He also answered questions from the students.

With the support of the Italian government, dozens of Italian universities began to work with a scheme called “Marco Polo” and start to enroll new students in Jiangsu and Shandong Provinces.

The scheme provides a scholarship provided by the Italian government. About 100 students in Jiangsu and Shandong will be selected by Ameson to study in Italy this year.

Professor Sean Zhang, Vice Chairman of the Ameson Foundation, participated in “World University Chancellor’s forum” in June 2007 in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, with the invitation from the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education.

Chancellors and vice chancellors from a number of world’s leading universities also participated in the forum.

Ameson Foundation and Queensland University of Technology (QUT) singed a protocol in July, 2006 for cooperation on a joint master’s program. A few modules of this course are taught by professors from Ameson Foundation, Nanjing Normal University and Jiangsu Institute of Education, with the majority of the modules being taught at QUT in Brisbane, Australia.

Nine students in the inaugural program have finished their studies in China. Five students will arrive in Brisbane in March 2007, and the rest will arrive in late March.

Students who successfully finish the course will receive a Master’s degree in TESOL in 2007. The joint master’s program offers reduced cost of study for Chinese students while maintaining high quality of education.

he Ameson Foundation organized an educational visit for the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education during November 5th and November 15th, 2006.  This visit to northern European universities was led by Mr. Ding Xiaochang, Deputy General director of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education.

Over the course of 11 days, the group of officials visited Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The Finnish Higher Education Evaluation Council, The Finnish National Board of Education, University of Helsinki and Technical University of Denmark were among the government agencies and education institutions they visited during the trip.

The officials discussed issues related with the two level of education supervision agencies and higher education institutions. They shared opinions of topics such as higher education evaluation system and universities meeting with criteria of higher education evaluation. It is believed that this visit has contributed to mutual communication and development of the education system in Jiangsu Province and the northern European nations.

Organized by the Ameson Foundation and with support from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the Jiangsu Vocational Education International Forum was held in Changzhou from June, 12 to 14, 2006.

More than 500 experts attended the forum. In addition, around 200 representatives from the circle of vocational education in Shanghai, Zhejiang and Anhui Provinces also took part.

altThe first Nanjing Forum for International Elite Senior High School Principals was held on June 11 and 12, 2006. The forum was organized and sponsored by the Ameson Foundation and the Nanijng Education Bureau.

Prestigious guest speakers and principals from around the world participated in the symposium. Topics of the seminars included education transformation in China, general education, internationalization of basic education and schools' evaluation system. The forum was the most significant secondary education forum in Nanjing’s history.

Ameson Foundation organized “Jiangsu-Ontario International Education Cooperation Forum” for Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on June 28, 2005.

Officials of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Higher Education in Ontario, representatives from twelve Canadian universities and representatives from education institutions in Ontario participated in the forum.
