The Ameson Education and Cultural Exchange Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to the promotion and implementation of programs which facilitate cultural exchange and educational cooperation throughout the world. Founded in New York in 1994, Ameson's headquarters is located in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. Ameson maintains offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing and Suzhou, as well as numerous operations centers worldwide. Ameson's honorary Chairman is Dr. Boutros Boutros Ghali, the former Secretary General of the United Nations.

American education dignitaries visited Hangzhou No. 2 Middle School

Professor Sean Zhang, Vice Chairman of the Ameson Foundation joined distinguished education experts from the US including Dr. Robert.B.Schwartz, Academic Dean of Harvard Graduate School of Education, Dr. Steven. G.Seleznow, Program Director for Education, Gates Foundation, Dr.Allan Alson,  Executive Director, High School Transformation, Dr. Evan Glazer, chancellor of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, for an education visit to Hangzhou No. 2 Middle School in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

Mr. Zhang Xupei, Deputy General director of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, led the experts and guests to the high school. Mr. Zhang introduced the overall education status quo and discussed with experts about teachers professional development in senior high school education and vocational education, and also problems involved with classroom teaching in both countries, how to carry on education reform, and online education.

The visiting experts also met with students who got admitted to US universities and those who aim to pursue undergraduate education in the US. They shared with the students about admission criteria in US universities. The experts said they were very impressed about the confidence and maturity demonstrated in the conversations with students.
