T

he Ameson Foundation has worked closely with the China Zhigong Party for several years. On May 25th,  Ameson welcomed a delegation sent  to the United States by the Zhigong Party for a tour promoting Chinese cultural awareness, led by Wang Qinmin, the National Deputy Secretary and Executive-Vice Chairman of the China Zhigong Party.

On the afternoon that the delegation arrived, Chi Weidong delivered a speech at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology introducing the history, mission and current condition of the Zhigong Party. the Zhigong Party has played an important role in China’s development over the last century. Founded in 1925, the Zhigong Party participated in drawing up the CPPCC Common Program and selecting representatives for the Central People’s Government after the 1949 revolution. Since then, the Zhigong Party has been heavily involved in strengthening ties with Hong Kong and Macau as well as overseas Chinese. The China Zhigong Party has brought these close ties with the overseas Chinese community to bear in their cooperation with Ameson.

Later that evening, as the sun set over the White House, the delegates met at Ameson’s DC headquarters in the Ronald Reagan Building, where they were received by Ameson Foundation Executive Vice-Chairman Sean Zhang, celebrated author and Deputy Director of Ameson’s Washington Office Zhu Xiaodi and others. Once there, the delegates were treated to a formal welcome ceremony hosted by the Acting Director of Ameson’s DC headquarters, Mr. Smith, which featured speeches from Ameson Senior Vice-President Doris Davis, and Ameson Board of Advisors member and current Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for International Affairs Alan Bersin.
