The Embassy officials were introduced to Ameson’s programs and the important role they play in building cultural bridges. According to Mr. Smith and Mr. Zhu Xiao Di, the Sino-American Youth Ambassadors (SAYA) program by the Ameson Foundation is a high-end educational and cultural exchange program that has played an active role in promoting communication among Chinese and American teenagers. Initiated by the Ameson Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education, the SAYA program provides an excellent opportunity for 12 to 18 year olds to experience American culture while sharing Chinese culture. In 2012, students participating in the program in Los Angeles had the opportunity to meet with Vice-Presidents Biden and Xi Jinping.

The Ameson Year in China program (AYC), on the other hand, is a program that provides the chance for recent college graduates to teach English in China for a year. It has been a leader in pioneering American experiences abroad in China.
