Financed Employment Tour for Overseas Chinese Scholars in Jiangsu, China, Summer 2010

In light of the “10,000 Overseas High-level Talent Recruitment Project” launched by the Jiangsu Provincial Government, the Jiangsu Committee of the China Zhigong Party will host Chinese doctoral and post-doctoral scholars from 10 elite overseas universities. Scholars will come to Jiangsu Province to learn more about employment opportunities, entrepreneurship and career development.

Interactive Seminar on High School and University Reform Initiatives in China and the United States held at Harvard University

Ameson events

A two-day seminar on High School and University Reform Initiatives in China and the United States was held on February 22 and 23, at the Gutman Conference Center at Harvard University.

The seminar was a “two-way learning and dialogue” between the Harvard Graduate School of Education faculty, superintendents, principals, admission directors from leading US schools and universities, and 22 Chinese delegates who travelled to the US for this event.

Student reflections on the 2010 SAYA Program

Elite Chinese student news

As students begin the new semester. Some are going back to school with fond memories from their Spring Festival holiday. Fourteen students and one teacher, Ms. Einhe He, were the first-ever participants of the Ameson Foundation’s latest exchange program the Sino-American Youth Ambassadors program, or SAYA. Their excitement and appreciation is reflected in some of the featured essays the participating students wrote.

Chinese officials and principals arrive in the US to attend the Ameson-Harvard University seminar

Education news

Twenty Chinese dignitaries travelled to the US for the “Interactive Seminar on High School and University Reform Initiatives in China and the United States,” to be held on February 22 and 23 at the Gutman Conference Center at Harvard University.

Update: SAYA Students in America

Already a few days into the SAYA exchange, Chinese students are adapting to life in the U.S. and enjoying the high school environment. Teacher and chaperone Ms. Einhe He said that she is impressed with the school and the courses available to the students. Between getting used to American food, sharing aspects of Chinese culture and visiting Boston landmarks, the students’ schedules are full of activities and learning about America.

Ameson Sino-American Youth Ambassadors on their first US visit

Ameson events

Students taking part in the Sino-American Youth Ambassadors (SAYA) program started their journey to the US on January 31 as the first participants of the cultural exchange program. Altogether 14 students from Shanghai, Jiangsu and Anhui Provinces were selected by the Ameson Foundation to be Chinese youth ambassadors in the US.

Ameson collaborates with University of Nottingham for student recruitment

Collaborations

The Ameson Chinese Elite Identification Scheme (ACEIS) welcomed the University of Nottingham to join the program that helps world-leading universities identify top Chinese high school students.

Mr. Vincenzo Raimo, Director of International Office, University of Nottingham, visited the Ameson Foundation's Shanghai office at the Shanghai Centre on January 21, 2010.

SAYA Preview: students prepare to go to the U.S.

In less than two weeks, 14 students will go to the U.S. as the first group to participate in the SAYA program. While in the U.S., the students will give presentations sharing various aspects of life and culture in China.

From presentations about food to martial arts to daily life as a student, the Chinese students are excited about going to the U.S., attending an American high school for a week and sharing a little of China with their new friends.

Ameson launches another University of Cambridge recruitment base in Shanghai

Education news

Ameson's collaboration with Shanghai Datong High School, a prestigious high school in Shanghai Municipality, for the Ameson Chinese Elite Identification Scheme, or ACEIS program, began with a launching ceremony on January 8.

Before joining the ACEIS program, Shanghai Datong High School previously worked with the Ameson Foundation by offering courses as a part of the US High School Program.

International Culture Festival and Christmas party held in Nanjing Municipality

Ameson Foundation and Jinling High School Hexi Branch co-hosted a Christmas party on Christmas Day, 2009 to familiarize students with Western culture and also to celebrate the holiday season.

The event took place at the multi-functional hall of Jinling High School Hexi Branch. It kicked off at 2 pm and lasted for around three hours. School principals of Jinling high School, teachers and parents of the students also attended the event.
