rom December 12th to 25th, 2006, Mr. Zhou Wanchun, vice secretary of Liaoning Provincial Government, led an educational delegation from Liaoning Province for a 14-day visit to Turkey, India and Egypt. The education visit aims at promoting further collaboration for Liaoning and higher-education institutions in the three countries.
Dr. Boutros Boutros Ghali, former Secretary General of the United Nation and Honorary Chairman of Ameson Foundation, accompanied by Prof. Sean Zhang, the deputy Chairman of Ameson Foundation, met with the delegation in Cairo. Dr. Ghali gave a high appraisal of the educational and economic development of Liaoning Province.
In addition, the officials also paid visits to Embassy of China in Egypt, University of Cairo, Suez Canal University, and National Institute of Information Technology in India.
During the visit, the officials not only gained valuable experience in issues such as the adjustments of education structure and course design in higher education, but also contributed to the communication and mutual development of education in Liaoning, Turkey, India and Egypt. Agreements in co-operations of teachers’ training and academic research were made during the trip.
