The Dean of the Indian Institute of Science and Industry and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of British Columbia (UBC) visited China in June 2007 to collaborate with local education officials and discuss macro educational policies. At the behest of the Education Office of Liaoning Province, the Ameson foundation invited Prof. Surendra Prasad (the Dean of the Indian Institute of Science and Industry) and Dr. Craig Evan Klafter (the Vice-Chancellor of UBC) to visit China.
During their visit, the two professors gave speeches at the Second Chancellors' Forum on Education in Shenyang (the capital of Liaoning province), and then embarked on a tour of relevant universities in the region after the forum.
